still is a lens on a larger engine. Here's what's happening when you set a weight and a place gets a score.

Habitus is the engine. still is the lens.

Underneath still is a platform called Habitus. You don't see it, but it's where the work lives: a single, shared record of places — every place we know about, and everything we've learned about each one, drawn from public data and labeled with where it came from, when, and how much we trust it.

Nothing in that record gets overwritten. When a road changes or a sensor updates, we add what we learned — we don't erase what was true before. The history is part of the point: a place is a trajectory, and you can only see a trajectory if you keep the past.

still reads from that shared record and does one thing with it: it scores places against the priorities you set. It's the first lens pointed at where to live. It won't be the last.

The score for any address is built from criteria operating at different geographic scales simultaneously — some set by the state, some by the county, some by your specific block. Tap any layer to see what's in it and where the data comes from.

We profile places, not people.

Because the intelligence lives in what we know about places, it doesn't need to live in what we know about you. Your weights score places the moment you ask, and then they're yours — not stored in a profile, not used to infer things about you, not sold. That's not a setting we added. It's how the thing is built.
